2014 SummitThe inaugural International Faith Based Leadership Summit was held April 9, 2014 at The Church Center for the United Nations in New York City. The summit brought together faith-based leaders from government agencies, international organizations, developing nations, information and communications technology (ICT) experts, development experts, churches, missions organizations, public and private faith organizations to focus on ICT4DF and its use to maximize the individual, collaborative and collective impact by empowering developing countries missions and ministries in changing life and life conditions through sustainable development and empowerment.
Apart from the relationships and partnerships that were established, a major outcome of the inaugural summit was a white paper entitled “Maximizing Information and Communications Technologies for Development in Faith-Based Initiatives.” Following the summit, attendees were invited to participate in the XIV Infopoverty World Conference, that took place on April 10-11, 2014 at the UN Headquarters in New York, that was also connected by video-conference with multiple sessions in Milan and other prestigious venues. This conference analyzed the state of art of the digital evolution in course, its effects on the development of emerging countries, and the best ICTs practices realized during the last year together with the most advanced policies carried out by companies and institutions to drive the innovations toward the creation of a better way of life for all. |
